About Dr. Gerber


Janice L. Gerber, DDS

Dr. Gerber grew up in San Diego CA where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Point Loma College. Her 20 years nursing experience working in critical care, emergency room, family crisis intervention, and cardiac life support and patient management has helped bring a unique dimension to her dental practice.

Dr. Gerber received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco, before completing a hospital-based pediatric dentistry residency program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

After graduation from dental school Dr. Gerber spent 3 years in a family practice where she reaffirmed her love for pediatric patients. In 1993 she took a position at a pediatric office in Auburn CA, before coming to Fairfield in 1996 to establish her practice here in Solano County.

Community Service:

Her passion for children's dental health has prompted her to create and implement a preschool education program stressing the importance of dental health through diet, oral hygiene technique and dental safety.

Professional Associations:

Dr. Gerber's continuing commitment to providing the highest quality of dental care has kept her current in the latest advancements in the field of pediatric dentistry. She maintains memberships with such professional organizations as the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Society of Dentistry for Children and the American Association of Women Dentists, just to name a few. She is a Board Member of the Napa Solano Dental Society where she currently serves as treasurer.

Hospital Appointments:

Dr. Gerber is on the surgical staff at Northbay Medical Center, Sutter Solano Medical Center, Surgery Center at VacaValley and Kaiser Permanente Hospital in both Vallejo and Vacaville. Being a dental surgeon on staff allows Dr. Gerber to care for children who require General Anesthesia for dental treatment.


As a Pediatric Specialist, Dr. Gerber's philosophy is to create a positive dental experience for your child by providing gentle dental care. She uses age-appropriate techniques along with parent/child education to provide the highest standard of care for your child's health, comfort and safety.

Away from the office, Dr. Gerber enjoys skiing, windsurfing, backpacking, fishing and kayaking with her husband Bill as well as gardening and cooking ( especially desserts... Yummm ).
