Dr. Irma Garcia was raised in a military family in Alameda. She received her undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of California, San Francisco. She taught as an assistant clinical professor at UCSF for ten years.
Dr. Garcia is a trained specialist in pediatric dentistry: recognized by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry after completion of a two-year residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland. She has practiced pediatric dentistry for more than 20 years. Her advanced training in hospital dentistry enables her to provide treatment for children under general anesthesia. Dr. Garcia is bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish.
Dr. Garcia’s passion for dentistry and love for others allows her to connect with both patients and parents. She provides the same level of personalized, compassionate dentistry to her patients as she’d offer her own children. Her positive, down-to-earth, and caring personality, coupled with her experience as a mother, drives her practical, ethical approach to patient care.
Dr. Garcia feels blessed to be married to her best friend, Eric Fromer, MD. They are the proud parents of Elena, Clark, and Benji. Elena excels at keeping her mom up to date with the latest technology and fashion trends while the two boys keep her busy with the Boy Scouts. Dr. Garcia enjoys being a Sunday school teacher at her church, as well. In her spare time, she loves gardening alongside her family, their chickens, and the family cat, Wolfie.
